-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The room slowly started filling up with the students who weren't exactly the type to want to study all too off. Of course there was Dorcas Elaine, a good friend of Amelia, who did do pretty well in her courses. But she brought along with her Ludo Bagman and in soon followed Kyndrick Laurent. As Kevin stared awkwardly at the image of Amelia asserting herself and watched as the chaos unfolded, he started getting this sense of impending doom. The seventh years were an interesting gaggle of students, most of them (though slightly disruptive at times) got on with each other well. There were only one or two bad eggs in the bunch, and they were lucky enough to have one of them right now terrorizing probably the smartest girl in the room.
"Bellatrix, that isn't necessary. You know Amelia is right." He said, hopefully interrupting the commotion that had only just begun. It was little use. As Bellatrix continued, laying a thin hand on Amelia and tapping her fingers, Kevin clenched his teeth in anxiety. His wand was gripped a little tighter in his right hand, his entire arm flexing, veins popping. Kevin only ever felt friendship for Amelia, but that friendship was something strong, something that would last outside of Hogwarts. "Listening to Amelia would be the easier way out Bellatrix." He looked at her sternly and lifted his wand. "But since you don't seem to want to do that." He glared at her bag and drew out the bottle of firewhiskey, a flask of some unknown substance, and a box half full of cigarets.
The objects floated over to Kevin and blinked out of view before everyone's eyes. Kevin's smile creeped up into a smirk. This had been the first time he'd accomplished wordless magic in public, something he had been studying for since start of term. That smirk however, drifted away when the seriousness of the situation weighed in. Amelia was leaving, deflated now from the scene that had just popped her new found bubble of security and strength. Kevin gazed back at her, meeting her eyes, wondering if there was any way that he could dry those tears and coax her back into the group. They needed Amelia Bones if they were going to pass their N.E.W.T.S an it was a tremendous pity that Bellatrix Black couldn't see that. "Kyndrick. Seriously, ducks are not what we're doing here. We're studying." He spoke, letting his voice linger, letting every one know he was just as serious as Amelia. Head boy and Head girl had to stick together.

FOR THE LIFE OF ME, I CANNOT BELIEVE WE'D EVER DIE FOR THESE SINS WE WERE MERELY FRESHMEN -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The days pass by a little differently in the seventh year at Hogwarts, and Ollie was feeling them slip past her faster and faster. It seemed like only a blink of an eye and she was waking up for the next morning full of classes. Only a moment would pass and she'd be walking through the Great Hall at lunch time. And then in a matter of minutes the day would be closing and everyone retiring to their separate beds (sometimes shared beds) their separate houses, slipping further into their separate futures. The term had only just begun, but the seventh years had already started to delve into the world outside of Hogwarts, and the first step into this new world was N.E.W.T.S. Maybe some just thought of them as another test, but Ollie couldn't help but think of them as the final threshold to cross before your let into the world beyond, armed with any whit you've been blessed enough to have and any magic you've managed to sit still and learn.
So that's what made dragging herself to the study session in the room of requirement just all that more difficult. She didn't have to go far, which was probably a good thing since she might have veered off in several other directions if she had to have been waltzing up for the Hufflepuff commons. The Gryffindor set her course for the seventh floor and made sure her long legs stuck to that path. More than once she was tempted to take a run for any secret passage down to the kitchens. Even scaling down the astronomy tower sounded like a much greater adventure than what she was about to waltz into. Sure the seventh year, consisting of both Kyndrick Laurent and Cecilia Nott amongst others, was usually a funny group to be around. But with the prospects of Kevin and Amelia being extra studious and possible tears from any number of people was enough to make her cringe at the idea. It was just too difficult to let go of Hogwarts, especially when she was just now starting to figure out who she is.
Like the rest of her seventh year, though, she was soon just down the corridor of the room of requirement, and just nearly into that study session. She straightened her back bone, hid the general look of unwillingness to spend time with her classmates, and continued on forward head held high. And yet she still managed to nearly run into Amelia Bones, whose back was scrunched over, face was melancholy and red with tears, and whose head was lowered in shame. Ollie stopped herself before the Hufflepuff and tried to help without invading any personal space. "Mellie? Hun are you alright?" Ollie gazed towards Amelia with a huge bit of sympathy pouring out of her eyes. From just inside Ollie could hear the strong voice of Kevin booming over Kyndrick and who else was gathered there. Certainly Kevin wouldn't have done anything to upset Amelia, but Ollie could think of plenty of people in their year that would. And sure Ollie hadn't really ever tried to be good friends with Amelia, truth is she hadn't even thought of it, but better late than never. And seventh year was kind of late.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- oh, she does care about amelia, really!

ALL BRAWN AND NO BRAINS AND ALL THOSE NICE THINGS YOU FINALLY GOT WHAT YOU WANT SOMEONE TO LOOK GOOD WITH --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Vinnie Kentwood's brain is actually filled with what most would call smarts. He just never seemed to be the type. You know, the Ravenclaw type. But that sorting hat did call out the bronze and blue for Vinnie and he's been happy in his house ever since. One of Hogwart's fine quidditch players, a chaser destined for glory on the pitch, also happens to be quite the brilliant play maker and riddle solver extraordinaire. He just usually cares more about winning at quidditch than he does about his studies, and he only piled on the most basic of N.E.W.T.S to pass through his seventh year of school and be signed to some great professional team. His parents tried to push him to go into a more academic field, what else do you do with a brain that enjoys reading history text books? But Vinnie has taken his own path, and he doesn't mind who judges him about it either. Let them just assume that he paid his way into Ravenclaw, as long as it brings the team some glory on the field right?
Still, he managed to put away his broom and pick up his books and head to the study session so appropriately set up by Head boy and fellow Ravenclaw Willis. He stumbled into the room of requirement, slipping past two girls by the doorway, not even bothering to look a their faces because he had spotted Ludo already inside. He shuffled up to his best friend, mildly oblivious to the unfolding scene, and set his bag down with a sigh. "Ello pal. Oh am I glad to see you here, tell me it isn't too dull..." His voice trailed off and his eyes lifted to the room before him. Lainey sat quietly, Kevin stood before Bellatrix with wand in hand, Amelia was making a bee line for the door, being talked to by Ollie which was a friendship he hadn't known existed, and Kyndrick looked generally intoxicated like normal. With a blink and a worried expression settling down on his thin lips he leaned into Ludo and whispered. "Did I miss something?" Like that wasn't obvious enough, come on Vinnie, use that brain we all know you have.
