She was that girl! The one who always seemed able to sneak under the noses of others. She could get alcohol, drugs, and whatever else she wanted into school. And, for this Spring holiday, Kyndrick decided to take her fellow students off their home turf and into uncharted lands. She decided that it was time to throw a party by the sea.
She knew of just the right beach. It was the kind of place that was tucked away down below rocks but that spread far enough to keep campers out of the tide’s reach while still setting up tents on the sand. As a little girl, Kyn had vacationed here. But now, she was redefining the territory as a place for fun, a place for lively entertainment. And, as usual, she was the first to show up.
She had gathered her equipment over time and was ready for this. She had her own little tent, sleeping bag, flashlight, and a bag with her many fun little outfits. She’d also levitated a few ice chests, kegs, and an open-walled tent for cover in case they got hit with rain. She set these things up with an experienced air, as if she lived for seaside camping holidays! And, after her tents were sufficiently staked down and assembled, she started down the beach to collect firewood. She planned on a bonfire, one of her specialties.
She was thankful for the seclusion of the area because it enabled her to use magic to set things up instead of having to do it all the normal way. Plus, it cut her time down to about a fourth of what it would have been by muggle means. She was left with just enough time to change out of her sandy cotton pants and long sleeve shirt and into a cute, flirty little dress from a boutique in Paris. Typical Kyndrick, always making a statement. Tonight would be their’s; the student population would claim it as their own! And Kyn absolutely could not wait. More specifically, she couldn’t wait for Remus Lupin and his gang of ragtag Gryffindors to show up. It wasn’t Remus’s gang precisely, but Kyn had found a sort of fondness for Remus that didn’t quite spread to the others. He was special. She wouldn’t forget that. Now, if only other would show up so they could light the fire and start this little shin-dig.

party hard,
Dax was used to these sorts of things. He’d been to enough parties at school to know all the right people and Kyndrick seemed to count him in among the numbers of people who should show up to these events. His problem was that his best friend wasn’t always among those numbers. Molly Penderghast was awkward and timid and generally looked at people like Kyndrick as a joke rather than an invitation. So, Dax had hinted to Molly over and over that she should go to the party, but there were no guarantees. And, hopefully, Dax wouldn’t spend the whole time sulking. Or, worse, making declarations of drunken love while playing guitar among the crowds. He had this bad habit of becoming extremely overly affectionate while intoxicated.
He made his way down the rocky paths toward the long, sprawling beach and spotted Kyndrick’s camp-out. He pitched up his little one-man tent a walk away from Kyn’s tent, knowing she’d probably have a plethora of visitors that night whom Dax had no intention of over-hearing. His tent was nestled into a little corner of rocks where he’d be able to sleep once the night got too wild. He never imagined himself to be the mellow partier, but Molly was on his mind and he just couldn’t get her out.

got my very own hammock! The beach was bigger than Cas had imagined it would be in his head. He was thrilled to take the fun of the school crowd on vacation and had looked forward to this little outing from the moment Kyn Laurent had invited him. Unlike the others though, Cas wasn’t one to over-prepare. Instead of bringing loads of belongings, he had only a backpackers travel pack slung on his back. Once down on the beach, he pulled out a hammer and two sharp ended stakes. He staked them into two massive rocks that climbed up the lurching hills. After they were planted into the rock in a sturdy fashion, Cas hung the ends up his hammock from the stakes. He then climbed up the sides of the rocks and staked in another two stakes above him. From there, he draped a tarp to stop rain. He lazily tossed a blanket on his hammock and grinned. He was good to go. After set up, he raced up to Kyn and grabbed her around the waist with a howl like some kind of wild beast.
”Tonight is a night of history!” Cas called out, letting his voice boom on the rocks behind them. He let go of Kyn as they stood before the unlit fire pit. ”Where the Hell is everyone? I mean, I see Dax over there, but he seems moody.” Cas commented with an upraised brow. ”Oh, tell me you invited Gracie! Please, please say Gracie’s coming!” Cas’s face lit up like the sun. He loved to harass Gracie more than anything else in the world. Call it a hobby, or call it love! Cas and Gracie had a special kind of bond.

She’d only brought a daypack since Alice had offered to bring the tent. A few of them would all be bunking together so they wouldn’t all have to go out and get supplies. This was the first real trip that Lily had been on with just her friends. She’d been places with the Logan family or her own parents and sister. But this was all new to her. And she couldn’t help but feel a bit excited to be out on her own. For the first time, there were no rules, no regulations. She wasn’t obligated as a Prefect or a dutiful daughter or anything else. She could let loose and it would be fine! The thought left her a little breathless.
When she found the camp spot, she realized she was early and her face flushed slightly. Where was everyone else? So far, it was Cas and Kyn and someone in a tent tucked away. She’d at least expected Ollie and Mar early!
Not knowing what to do, Lily wandered through the sand slowly until she reached Cas and Kyn. ”Hey guys.” She started as Cas rambled something about Gracie excitedly. Lil’s eyes lit up slightly, amused by Cas’s general enthusiasm. It seemed like everyone was waiting for someone. Lily was waiting for everyone. She needed her other Gryffindors in order to feel even remotely social. [/style]

[atrb=width,300] i'll win you over e v e n t u a l l y Frank couldn’t contain himself! All the best people were going to be at this party. And Alice had been closer to him than she ever had before. Frank genuinely felt like he was her friend now, not just that guy she was always arguing with. He still loved her, not that he’d admit to it, but she was starting to like him too. At least, that was how it seemed. Frank was convinced that, if they both came to this party, things would finally change.
Frank was, quite possibly, the most prepared guy to show up. He’d brought his parents’ old magic tent while was basically a traveling house filled with about ten bunk-beds. He’d already told James, Sirius, and Remus they could bunk in his place with whoever they wanted. In theory, this counted Peter as well, but Frank wasn’t all that fond of Pettigrew. He’d even offered that Alice could stay in their tent, but she’d murmured something about her family having their own and Emma coming as well and Frank had stopped listening after that, his heart sinking a little bit.
It only took a few moments to magic the tent into action, even though it was entirely illegal for him to perform magic outside of school. There were plenty of seventh years around to blame the activity on so, Frank knew his was safe. He left his tent fairly close to all the activity and couldn’t stop grinning as he approached Cas, Kyn, and Lily about the pile of driftwood.
”Hey all! Any sign of Ace? Or Sirius?” Frank asked. He and Sirius had always been abnormally close. People made jokes about it, but Frank knew they just had a bad ass friendship. Things had been awkward since Frank found out that Sirius had slept with Alice, but it didn’t matter. He summoned a log to sit on and motioned for Lily to join him as they hung out.

With a pop, Marlene McKinnon appeared suddenly on the beach quite close to Kyn, Cas, Lily, and the others. “I passed!” she screeched by way of greeting, carelessly tossing a rucksack on the sand. Marlene’s seventeenth birthday had been in mid-February, and she had been one of many taking the apparation classes Hogwarts offered to newly legal witches and wizards. Her exam had been scheduled only the day before, and she had spent the past 24 hours doing rather obnoxious things like apparating into her grandparents’ home to frighten them, and popping in on her aunt and uncle, and on dear cousin Ludo. She had even managed to show up near Ollie once or twice.
Needless to say, everyone was quite glad to have Marlene out of their hair for a few hours.
“Where’s Ollie? I thought for sure she’d already be here... Hopefully with something to sleep in, because I only packed alcohol and underwear...” When packing for overnight trips, Marlene only believed in the essentials. Clean underwear, alcohol, and a wand. For the cleaning charms of course! “Have we started? Yes? No? Yes?” Shrugging carelessly she grabbed the tossed bag and pulled out a bottle of firewhiskey and dropped it by the log, letting the bag fall again into the sand.
Not quite willing to sit down yet, Marlene wandered around the campsite, trying out the hammock. That was a good idea... If Ollie didn’t come prepared, maybe she’d make a hammock. Or steal this one. She peeked into Kyn’s tent, which elicited a quick, “Nice!” before she made her way to Frank’s, which got a much more colourful, “Godric’s balls!” Rejoining the others, Marlene jabbed a thumb at the million man tent behind her.
“What’s that? You could have an orgy in there, two orgies! There’s like 20 bunk beds in there! I know where I’m sleeping! With half the school...”

besides, kyndrick laurent was hosting this one. which meant, very simply, that kyndrick laurent would be there for the entire weekend. he was excited to see her especially. but likewise, most of his friends, if not most of the hogwarts seniors, would be there. it would obviously be a good time. remus apparated on the spot, arriving in the clearing and taking a look around him. he knew sirius and james had not yet arrived, but frank and lily were standing around. ”hey all” he grinned, approaching them. ”is this your tent, frank? bloody hell” he raised his eyebrows, grinning wider. he poked his head inside the gigantic tent and looking around. ”called this one!” he shouted, throwing his duffle bag onto one of the lower beds without any more of an announcement, rejoining the others. he raised an eyebrow over at marlene saying it would become something of an orgy in there, not bothering to hide his laughter. godric's balls! two orgies?! ”alright!” he clapped his hands together excitedly. ”let’s get this party started” he finally decided, a bit uncharacteristically. he was going to have fun tonight, going to have fun tonight, he kept repeating to himself silently.

Can you guess which one I am? She scribbled the words on a scrap of parchment with a charcoal pencil. She paused for a moment, just breathing before she had to continue on. I set him free. He wouldn’t tell the story that way, but it’s what I did. Monsters and men shouldn’t intermingle this way. Perhaps his eldest brother was right in that aspect. I would never be good for Ryan. All I’ve done so far is keep secrets, secrets that he might not even understand if I told him. The only person who understands is Mercedes. We’re too alike. We run together with different blood pounding through our veins. But, in the end, our lives always seem to collide. So, why not come here? Why not spend this time with a treasured friend after learning that love can only ever hurt monsters like us? I will tell her everything. And she will understand because she must. Terria stopped writing. She crumpled the sheet into a ball and then unwrinkled it. She then crumpled it once more before tearing the sheet in halves over and over until they were only tiny rectangles of smudged charcoal. She tugged a lighter out of her pocket, set the tiny scraps on a rock before her, and lit them on fire with solemn eyes.
”Time for my first trip with friends.” She murmured to herself with this tense lack of assurance in her tone. She felt as lost as she had that first train ride to school. But, luckily, this time around she would have Mercy to wander along with her. Having a real friend made things much more bearable. She even felt normal sometimes. She could sit there with Mercy and the two of them could be weird together, freaks that wouldn’t ever belong.
She’d gotten to the beach just after Dax had. But unlike him, she’d decided it would be better to wait to go down to the camp until others started arriving. She stayed stowed away along the Cliffside, writing on scraps of paper that she would only burn afterward so as not to leave any evidence of who she truly was. The last thing she needed was a drunk teenager rummaging through her writings to discover she was a vampire. It was hard enough having to deal with what she was on her own, no less with other people harassing her about it.
The crowd was finally beginning to grow. Terria noticed even a few more mellow sorts arriving. Lily Evans was there and so was Remus Lupin. They were Prefects. It surprised Terria that Prefects would go to these kinds of things. Then again, this was a school break and they deserved to have fun too.
She started down the rocks slowly and shyly peered into the camp. She’d brought a small, two person tent. She started setting it up near where Dax had put his, thinking it would be out of the way. The poles took a moment to figure out, but Terria got it on her own and was soon offering the others an awkward little wave as she sat down on one end of a log.

she found a mountain that was far too high and when she found out she couldn't fly, well it was too late. its too late, she's gone too far, she's lost the sun. she's come undone -------- Callie Rose Moran lived for events like these. When Kyn had whispered in her ear during Charms that this was happening, Callie’s eyes had lit up like giant blue light bulbs. She had left class scouting out Mar Mckinnon like her life depended on it. And now that the weekend had finally arrived, Callie looked like she might wet herself with excitement.
She walked down the beach wearing simple clothes. She even had a custom made Hufflepuff quidditch sweatshirt on. She carried only a backpack with general supplies, imagining she could just bunk with Mar and Ollie. If not, she’d kick Ludo out of his bed and steal his spot, right?
More important than her backpack, Callie had a bundle of old school broom slung over her right shoulder. Under her left arm, she carried a single, massive red quaffle. Written on the quaffle in bold, capital letters was the name Holden Avery. Callie may or may not have harbored an extreme hatred for the Slytherin boy. When she was home practicing quidditch, she liked to throw the quaffle into the bludgers aggressively for fun.
She could hear Mar’s voice carrying across the beach even over the sound of waves crashing ahead. Callie let out a snort of a laugh and called out to her friend, ”Did I hear something about orgies?!” That was when she spotted Frank Longbottom’s tent and her jaw dropped. She raced the rest of the way through the sand, her sneakers dragging slightly in the effort. She dropped the brooms beside the log where a few people were sitting and peered her head inside the massive thing. ”Helga’s Ovaries! This thing’s bloody massive!” Callie blurted out, sharing swears with Mar. The two of them had terrible linguistic habits!

The timing was perfect. Just as Ollie was finishing up the first part of her last year at Hogwarts, Kyndrick Laurent decided to throw one of her infamous parties. There would be booze, that was a given. There would probably be drugs, either the Hufflepuff kind or her own potion mixtures. And more importantly there would be people. Ollie enjoyed being surrounded by friends and even by enemies because that meant less time for her thoughts. When she was alone in her dormitory or wandering the corridors between classes, or even outside with the magical creatures, she was far too alone. Her mind got all worked up on things like gender and sex and love and made up the kinds of questions for her that she just couldn't answer. So she didn't even try. She just distracted herself. When she was alone, it was alcohol. When she wasn't, it was friendship. When she was at a party, hell yeah it would be both.
She was running late, according to some, but perfectly on time by her standards. She brought what was necessary for spending the night, and a whole lot of what wasn't. She didn't bother with the perfect outfit, because she honestly didn't care, but she did bother with the perfect way to play truth and dare. A wild mix of a new potion she had done up just last weekend. It had truth and luck all rolled up into one. It would be wild. Olivia had stocked up to. Enough for a night long adventure with everyone fifth year and up. Nearing the beach from her apparation point up the hill, she'd learn to not be quite as obnoxious as Marlene had lately, she caught sight of all the importantly fun people she'd hoped to see. Already there was a slew of Gryffindors and a couple odds and ends but they wouldn't get in the way. She bounded down to Callie and Mar and grinned. "Well golly, dumbledore's dinkle! Isn't it a groovy night for some fun. What's this about the boys having an orgy? I'm pretty sure they've wanted to all year!" She gave a harmless wink at Remus and waved towards Lily. Ollie was perfectly fine with sex jokes and promiscuous behavior as long as Emma Logan didn't show up and get her all hot and bothered and into some serious trouble. |

[atrb=width,400] could it be you? Molly did not want to be here, not in the slightest. It wasn't that she was anti-social or really was a killjoy, she just was smart enough to know she was terrible at dealing with people. Not to even mention the fact that the prospect of seeing Holden drove her completely mad and running for her room. She was hoping maybe she'd see her cousin tonight. Terria was one of the only people that made Molly feel normal, and even she was adjusting. Molly was no vampire, no creature, just a clumsy and awkward girl, too quiet and spineless to stand up for herself. Reaching the forest where everyone was setting up their tents. The small one she had packed away for herself seemed stupid. Terria was actually the only reason Molly had been able to justify this holiday camping trip. While her parents were strict and also awfully protective of her, Molly knew they cared for her safety and well-being. They were also blind. What was safe about Holden Avery? Molly wasn't a good liar and while she was clumsy, she wasn't always tripping into things. The bruises came from somewhere. She thanked God, or whoever for the chilly air of springtime so that she could wear a light sweater...her wrists were purple, her arms a mess from her last encounter with Holden.
He'd apologized, but it was just to mock her. He'd kissed her and said they would resolve their disagreement over the course of the holiday. Molly didn't even want to imagine what that had meant. Though she did want to see Terria and avoid Holden at all costs, she really did come to see Dax. He'd invited her and she felt awful for lying to him. He seemed to be one of the only people who gave a damn about her and had even stayed by her bedside when she was sick. He was a real friend, and she didn't really have any reason to say no. Besides, she knew he had problems when it came to alcohol. Molly wasn't stupid enough to try and believe there wouldn't be drinking here, or that she could stop him from drinking entirely...but she could help him know when enough was enough. No reason to get sick or make a fool of yourself. Tentatively, she walked past some people, desperately hoping to not catch Kyndrick's eye. Ravenclaw or not, she was crazy and would most likely retell the trip's events to Cassandra which would get Molly into a lot of trouble. She saw Dax setting up his tent, and followed the path down to him, the pessimist in her hoping this wasn't all a mistake. "Uh...Hey." she said, shuffling her feet awkwardly. Terria was closeby too and she offered her a wave, but didn't try to speak with her as she saw Mercy Nott starting towards her. Oh well.

Mercy muttered to herself as she hiked along the beach, sticking close to the cliff face. She'd already spent the last fifteen minutes walking from the road, where the Knight Bus had left her without any choice but to walk the rest of the way to campsite. Her sandal-clad feet kicked at the sand as she slowed to look out at the water.
She wasn't in any real hurry to get to the party. The only reason she'd even agreed to go was to get out of the house and away from her siblings whom she was relatively sure did not know about the little trip. Still, the thought of sitting through one of Kyndrick Laurent's infamous parties - complete with Potter and Amherst and the McKinnons and lots of other people that Mercy did not usually socialize with - made the thought of a couple of days spent with her family almost bearable.
The knowledge that Terria was waiting for her forced her on, and she was thankful that she'd remembered to pack her muggle studies textbook. At least when everyone else was outside partying, she could retreat into the tent and do some reading. There was absolutely no way she was doing any sort of swimming. Mercy had all but sworn off the pasttime after her little run-in with Emma Logan a few months prior.
Terria was easy to spot once Mercy made it to the camp. She looked around at the fellow students and was relieved that there were no Slytherins yet. The least her siblings new about her social habits the best. She dropped her bag by the entrance to Terria's tent and plopped down on the log beside the older girl.
"I never thought I'd live to see the day when the same amount of Ravenclaws and Gryffindors show up to a party," she said with a smile.

People were milling about. Frank had brought a massive orgy tent! Remus and Lily looked like they were due for a decent bout of rebellion. Ollie Mckinnon looked like she was well stocked for this event. And Mar and Callie already looked thick as thieves and mischievous. The only awkward thing were all the other people from her house that seemed to be arriving. Kyn had never in her life pegged either Mercy Nott or Molly Penderghast as party girls. Dax, Kyn understood, but these others were new to the scene.
Seeking out fun like an animal stalking prey, Kyn moved toward Ollie. ”What you bring love?” Kyn asked her with a wink. She had this way of entering other people’s personal space without thinking. As each person had arrived, she’d offered touchy-feely hugs all around. Her hug for Remus lasted an extra moment, just to let things set in a bit.
”Tell me you’ve schemed up something brilliant?” Kyndrick asked Olivia, eye-lashes batting. ”Make the night a truly memorable affair?” She had no right to be baiting the older Mckinnon girl. She’d done nothing but piss off Olivia Mckinnon in the past. She’d spread rumors that the girl was lesbian just because she once saw her checking out someone’s ass in the girl’s changing rooms after quidditch. Kyn and Mar got along because they both loved to have fun more than anything else. But Ollie seemed a little more… Deep. Olivia had depth that Kyn didn’t dare touch. It was too much to handle.

party hard,
Of course, Dax had seen Molly coming toward him long before she actually reached his tent. He feigned surprise at her sudden appearance though. Her awkward words met Dax’s ears, bringing a strange sense of comfort. It was her voice that had accompanied him so often. Long nights studying in the Ravenclaw common, afternoons wandering the lawns when the sun had decided to shine, and quietly murmured stories between them during mealtimes in the Great Hall. Molly’s was a voice that Dax would never forget simply because he’d become so accustomed to hearing it.
He had to admit that he was sort of surprised to see her there. As much as he’d wished that she’d show, he had imagined that it was a bit of a fantasy rather than an actual thing that might happen. A light smile appeared on his face, the kind of look people wore when they couldn’t tell if they were dreaming or if it was real life and they didn’t really care to find out as long as it was happening.
”Hey you.” Dax murmured. He reached out to hug her but noticed that her body language seemed even more vulnerable and skittish than usual. What was going on? ”I, uh, didn’t think you’d show. I mean, I saw your cousin… I had hoped…” Dax was tongue tied. He stopped for a moment and grinned, gathering his thoughts. ”I’m really glad you’re here.” He resolved to say. ”You bunking with Terria and Mercy?” He asked. A moment later, he literally blushed, suddenly realizing just how forward that had sounded. Of course, he’d love to share a tent with Molly! But it wasn’t something people just out and said. Not unless they were Kyndrick Laurent!

[atrb=width,300] i'll win you over e v e n t u a l l y Frank’s tent seemed to be a hit so far! After Mar had said it, he had to admit that it did seem a bit like an orgy tent. He wanted to say that it wasn’t. His parents had bought the thing ages back so that he and all their random pureblood cousins could go on long holidays near Scotland. But he wouldn’t ruin the illusion now. Not when people were happily claiming bunks and discussing party antics to come. He was sort of afraid of what the Mckinnons and Callie Moran might scheme up, but he was excited to see nonetheless. Still now sign of Alice though. Where was she?
”So, Remus, are you going to be letting loose tonight? Are we going to see what happens when no Prefect duties are in order?” Frank asked excitedly. He was curious to see how Remus was outside the confines of the school. More importantly, he couldn’t wait to see what they might all get Remus to do.
