QUIDDITCH
In Noctem! We'd like to get some rascally games of quidditch in. The season is just starting and teams are...almost full. The staff members have talked about a basic set up for how to go about roleplaying the awesomely fun quidditch matches and we wanted to know what you all thought about it. Also, we're looking for a time when everyone can be online, all at once, for the first match of the season. Please reply to this thread with days and usual times you're available, and with your response to our suggested rules for the thread. Can't wait to get it underway!
Quidditch is a fast paced game, so we were thinking a fasted paced thread would be just about the most fun and probably most hilarious way to roleplay it out. We'd ask for everyone who wants to participate to be online at around the same time. An order for the team members would be made up ahead of time, for posting orders, and a separate thread would be made for the audience so that those playing don't need to read too many posts. There would be a maximum word count set for the players, a guideline really..nothing to worry about, so that nothing gets too terribly long. The majority of the game would be played on the honor system, since everyone here is awesome like that, and we will trust that no one will roleplay their character as truly the best player (unless of course everyone agrees that they should be) and this will also allow the member to choose how much their character is injured so they aren't stuck with a character in the hospital wing for months (unless they want to be tehe). Goals and snitch catches will be determined by a coin toss, since I'm sure we can find a tool for that somewhere online, and we will try not to end the game too quickly.
All teams will play each other for the first matches, and then after those matches some sort of game bracket will be made up for the rest of the season. If you have any suggestions on how to pair up teams, please shout 'em out. Quidditch might be difficult to set up, but it will be hella fun to play! See you on the field.
