Saffron Hale walked about the lower levels of the castle, Well, if you could call it walking really. She was an odd sight to see, every few steps would be accompanied or accented with something that looked like a jump or a skip. Saffy tried to find joy in everything she did, so arguably, that could apply to walking. Either way, she could act quite strangely at times. Blame it on too much pumpkin juice , if you must.
As captain of the hufflepuff quidditch team, she hadn't yet scheduled any practices for them just yet. Nor had she really conducted tryouts. She had the feeling that she would have to compose the team from invisible persons, or at least completely from scratch. Most of her housemates were pretty apathetic when it came to the sport of quidditch, and as much as she had tried in previous years to try and change this fact, she had been quite unsuccessful. So this year , she wouldn't even try. Saffy would put up the stupid notice, have tryouts eventually, and if she could find six team members that weren't all first years, she'd be fine. But really, it would be nice to win a few times this year, she did not want to be losing to slytherin especially, that's for sure.
Speaking of slytherins and what idiotic, brutal things they did on the quidditch pitch, on in particular had been on Saffron's mind ever since he'd hit her in the head with a bludger. Hunter Rein, was what one might call somewhat of a typical slytherin. He wasn't exactly the type to go about bashing blood status and uplifting the one who would soon rule them all, but he was cocky, arrogant, sarcastic...and though she didn't want to admit it, quite charming and attractive. It had all begun with that, and their friendship sort of came out of no where. It was rough and argumentative, but still there. And then there was the dare, on that rainy night out on the grounds. They'd kissed, and he'd been stuck in her head ever since. You couldn't really blame her for being attracted to him. But he was sort of a player, and she wasn't going to get her hopes up if nothing was going to happen. But...he'd actually admitted to caring for her, and asked her on a date...so that was a start, right?

hunter was bored. and this was generally the type of hunter that left him wandering in search for a target, or more specifically, a person. something or someone to pass the time with. the slytherin common room was as it was, empty except for the odd stragglers in first year. hunter could pick on them, but really though, making fun of others was never very funny unless you did it with someone else. one could easily bother a first year for the sake of bothering a first year, but that isn’t to say that bothering them wouldn’t exactly bring them a great deal of amusement. it would just sort of …awkward, and angry. and it would probably look a little lonely and pathetic on his behalf as well. so, moral of the story, it was dumb to be obnoxious when you’re standing by yourself. so naturally, if one were to infer from this it obviously implied that hunter needed to go on and find someone to be obnoxious with, or at least for.
but then, aha! as if right on cue as he was thinking it, he spotted a whip of red hair turning the corner of the corridor he was in. he stopped short of his tracks, identifying. of course, this hair could only really be mistaken for saffron hale (or of course lily evans but really who cared about lily evans these days besides that potter kid and snape. and more importantly really, hunter could tell the difference between the back of saffy’s head and lily’s head. there was a whole different shape and texture and trust hunter to just know the difference, despite the colour, there was a slight difference in shade). he grinned, wondering how he was going to get her attention. a few days ago he’d asked her to go out with him, and she’d agreed. for the record, this was sort of a strange concept for him as well. he wasn’t the type to “make dates” and have “cute conversations via owl notes”. that wasn’t his style. usually. but apparently, it was his style with saffy. he was getting soft, as they say. he wasn’t sure why or how this was, but it was definitely true enough. catching up as silently and discreetly as he could, hunter came up behind her and grabbed her lightly by the waist. ”gotcha”
tag saffy/leah notes figured i'd just reply here instead of making a new thread. this would've been up weeks ago but some family stuff came up. sorry for the wait<3
