slytherin, 6th year, 16, seer, death eater, social butterfly, confused as fuck hey guys, this is essie. so, she recently was recruited as a death eater because of severe family pressures. aside from that though, she's not all that bad. she has her obnoxious and rebellious streaks. she likes to tease and laugh and have fun. she's super sarcastic and has a solid sense of humor. and she's really just an all around social creature. she likes people and cares about people and genuinely wants to help them out if something's wrong.
so, i feel like essie has earned a lot of friendships all over the board in all houses. despite being a death eater, she has no actual blood preference and has never judged anyone for their blood lines. her favorite professor is barnes and he's mudblood. she's got a good heart and is really off on the wrong path, trying to figure out if she's more loyal to her family or her friends. and i want that to be a dominant part of her. i want her to know and talk to the girls like ollie and mar who are supposedly traitors. i want her to have muggle born friends who she would rather take bullets for than harm. and because she's a seer, she sees a lot of bad things in these people's lives that she really can't tell them about.
of course, just because she has those other friends doesn't mean she doesn't have friends in slytherin as well and friends who are death eaters. i think essie would still know and talk to and interact with a lot of slytherins. some of them would tease her mercilessly and ask her why she bothers with the other houses, but she'd just laugh it off because essie is that kind of girl. she can get along with virtually anyone. except those who think that trait is a problem and refuse to get along with her because of it.
in terms of romantics, i don't see too much for ess. she could have a few past boyfriends, but they were all shorter relationships. i see her as a virgin, so she wouldn't be a big party girl. she's kind of old fashioned in romance. she wants the kiss on the cheek and the flowers and the door held open for her. but she also knows that's kind of rare so, she isn't very demanding of it. she just kind of hopes for the best and always keeps her boundaries. it would be really interesting if she had some kind of relationship where she could learn to love someone, but that would be pretty big to work with.
she's really up to you guys if you want big plots. i am open to loads of things. death eater stuff, order stuff, friends, enemies, lovers, family members, people.

i think that essie is everything that severus would want to be. they're in the same year, both death eaters, but essie is socially accepted and snape isn't. i can see severus kind of trying to make friends with her at their various death eater group gatherings but other than that he'd probably keep a distance because...well she's around people and people don't take well to him. snape is just as confused about being a death eater as i suspect essie is so maybe they'd kind of cling to each other at the gatherings? they both are there but kind of on the edge of things. that's my idea for them, nothing major.
i was thinking good friends would be an interesting plot. ollie is less wrapped up in the war than mar is, but she's still kind of hotheaded about it. i can see her befriending essie before the student was killed in the shrieking shack and not seeing a reason to not be friends afterwards. i think that if ollie found out about essie being a death eater/when she finds out, that she'd be upset because she doesn't think its what she really wants. she can kind of see that essie is different, that she's not against muggles or muggleborns and ollie would then try to pressure essie into dropping it. which is pressure that essie doesn't need so their friendship kind of falls apart but beneath all of it they both hope that the other one turns out okay.
i don't know if you have any plots going on with rodolphus but i had this in mind: since essie is in slytheirn and recently joined the ranks of death eater, bella would take a little more kindly to her than most people. bella doesn't have many friends but along comes essie, a girl that bella had previously just ignored is now suddenly in the picture. she's not exactly a threat..but the possibility of a step closer to voldemort. if bella were to take essie under her wing a little, get close to her, and try her best to make honest friends than whabam bella sort of has her own little follower. it would be like peter following the marauders, except essie would never do that..bella just thinks she can manipulate people like that, and she honestly thinks that she can make friends whenever she wants to without accounting for whether the "friend" really wants to associate with her or not. essie seems like she'd have a lot of friends but not ones like bella who openly terrorizes the majority of the school. and then there is rodolphus, bella's only true friend. it would be interesting if he started doing the same thing to essie, befriending her, showing her the ropes, flirting where he sees necessary so bella is now not just worried about a standing in the death eater chain, but worried about friends..something she never expected she'd need to do. bella never thought she'd be the one with less friends than pettigrew or worse...snape! but with essie suddenly joining the crew...she just might lose out to someone whose more social butterfly than chaotic pureblood supremacy.
...can they be friends? i want marjorie to have one really great slytherin friend...and slytherin just because they'd be around marjorie long enough to actually become close friends not just acquaintances. marjorie is kind of a drifter, she doesn't really have a place at hogwarts. she's not a death eater, not an order member, not a big family name or a good quidditch player. she's just here and there and randomly showing up in the middle of bad situations. since essie would have a lot of friends and maybe be around people a lot marjorie would probably feel like she could just jump right in and just start talking while everyone else is mid-conversation. and where most people would roll their eyes or get annoyed...essie would clap her on the back and invite her into the group because the more the merrier right?
