hey sister dearest! school just started up and i feel the need to write you pretty much everyday so, don't worry if you're swarmed by owls. see how much i love you? i'm a great sister! anyway, stuff around here has been as crazy as usual. ludo is captain this year so, we're seriously hoping to steal the cup. not much competition in ravenclaw since kyndrick laurent is captain and shows up drunk out of her mind half the time. and the snakes are sketchy this term. i mean, they don't strike me as being all that brilliant, but they're sneaky little devils!our only real, serious issue is gryffindor. they're golden ely! both my mckinnon girls are on team and that pain in the ass potter. and frank freaking longbottom. i mean, he's a good time at a party, but he's cocky as hell on the pitch. i feel this insane need to destroy them all. i love ollie and mar, but they just make the competition even bigger a deal. other than quidditch, there have been a couple decent parties this year and people have been wickedly cool. n.e.w.t.s are a drag, but i'm not sweating it all too much. i have my goals in clear view and i know i'll be playing with a professional quidditch team as soon as i'm out of this teenage drama cauldron. i do have to say tho, i'm gonna miss people. i've got great friends here. like you and your friends from school. i hope i stay in touch with everyone, ya know?

let me know what's going on in your life!!! i know i ramble about quidditch, but i care about you loads and loads ely! let me know how crap at the ministry is going. and come visit me if you're round here. i heard you and our head boy have a little fling going on. i approve. kevin's a nice guy. not my type, but he's pretty cool. and please, don't get tangled up in any of this war business ely. the school's been exploding with talk about it all. students pledging alliance to different sides. it's a bloody mess! i know you know right and wrong tho. you get it. you're my big sister! you wouldn't ever be stupid enough to get into this. and get this, there's some student doing anonymous broadcasts over the wireless net from inside the castle. she's going to get herself killed if anyone finds out who she is. just a fun bit of gossip. stay amazing. i love you ely!

Dear Callie,

You know how much I love getting your letters, so write as many as you want, just don't expect replies to every single one of them! Happy to hear things are going so well with quidditch this season, although I must admit I'm a little ashamed of how poor the Slytherin team is. In any case, I'm sure you'll be able to beat Gryffindor, no matter who's playing for them. I know you're friends with the McKinnons, but you have to look past that and kick their behinds. And I'm not just saying this because Ollie and I don't get along. If you really want to play professionally, you have to win the cup this year. And please, try to stay out of the partying scene as much as possible. I know I don't have to lecture you about being responsible and studying hard and all that, but just don't get into too much trouble, all right?

I can't say my life is as exciting as yours right now. Honestly, I barely get time to myself these days. The Ministry is pretty chaotic most times, especially my department. They've got me working overtime translating messages, and there's a rumor about one of us being sent to Venice for a week to take notes for the Minister on some conference. It's all very boring. The only thing that keeps me going is the thought of seeing you. I'm planning a trip to Hogwarts this weekend, unless something goes wrong and I have to work. I have been meaning to tell you about Kevin. I'm glad you like him. He's very charming, and mature. But what about you? I haven't heard about you dating in a while. Have you met anyone special at one of those parties?

I'm sad to hear that the war is having such an affect on the school. Out here, signs of the war are everywhere you look. It's the reason the Ministry is in such shambles. I had hoped it wouldn't reach you so soon. No student should have to make such a difficult decision at this time. All I want is for you to be safe, Callie. I love you.
